Hawaii
The north shore of Kawaii, the begining of the Napali Coast.

Being that this was our big grad summer, I was in search a trip worthy of the occasion. Again, for one reason or another most of my friends fell through and couldn't make it. Tinky was the exception. Without much thought, 2 weeks in Hawaii fell into place. I had been telling Tinky about my last trip to there for some time and he was more than willing to Myself trying to hold my footing against a powerfull wind with the Napali Coast as my backdrop. go. The biggest problem was convincing his mother. Tinky had never flown before and I had to go to the FAA's web site and download the statistics sheet to prove to her that it is one of the safest forms of travel. After all the planning, we graduated and left for our trip. We stayed on the island of Kawai, the very beautiful and wet (I love rain). The big downside to the trip was that I was only 19 at the time and the minimum age for all the car rentals was 21. After we first got to the island we rented bikes and spent a few days looking to buy an old car, but none of the ones we saw for sale had passed the registration test. So we were stuck biking the island, which really wasn't all that bad, as a matter of fact, it was much more fun than a car could have been. Only problem being, we didn't have much energy to hike the trails after having to bike 30 miles over a mountain to get to them. All the same, we hiked into the crater, along the Napali coast, and everywhere else we could get ourselves. The unfortunate thing, at least for me is that Kawai was in a draught for the time we were there. The island's magnificence and our struggle to be with it is a beauty that lives on in my heart.
