Originally my plan was to drive across the country back to Massachusetts with 3 or 4 of my friends. One by one, the plans fell through for each of my friends. My girlfriend at the time, Trish, was more than willing to join me on my adventure. After calculating the cost of driving to and from Massachusetts in addition to the cost of food for that long of a trip, I realized that I lacked the funds for such a trip. Unwilling to give up I shortened the trip and made it into a camping/road trip that would reach as far as the Black Hills of South Dakota. The Black hills is the area know to many of the native american tribes as the birth place of the world. For that reason alone, I wanted to see it. Together we trekked through 9 states and we stayed at five different campgrounds; including Black Hills State Campground, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Sequoia National Monument, during the two weeks of our trip.
